I work with men, women and couples or parent/infant dyads on a range of concerns during the perinatal period. My main areas of expertise are around supporting families at all stages of the transition to parenting, from planning to have a child up to three years post-partum.
My therapeutic style is to use a combination of approaches, individualised to clients' needs to support parents' and infants' mental health and emotional wellbeing, while also helping parents to develop positive attachment relationships with their infants and to strengthen their ability to read their infants cues. I use a combination of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness Therapy. I also draw on systems and attachment theory to better understand the dynamics of the family and enhance relationships.
I see clients who have difficulties with fertility, perinatal (ante & postnatal) mood disturbance, birth trauma, difficulties with adjustment to parenting, grief and loss, want support with parent-infant interactions and attachment as well as maintaining a healthy couple relationship in the transition to parenting.
