Hello, my name is Naomi Coulter

I work with adolescents (13+) and adults who are experiencing challenges with how they relate to themselves, others and their environment. I value my clients as unique individuals and aim to foster a sense of hope, determination and resilience in people to make positive changes in their lives in whatever capacity is meaningful to them.

I work a lot with people to help them identify, manage and regulate difficult emotions. This also involves gaining a deeper understanding of emotional reactions and an opportunity to benefit from learning from past experiences. I have a special interest in working with emotional pain occurring within interpersonal relationships and working with and resolving trauma ranging from severe single incident trauma to complex childhood trauma.

My therapeutic style is holistic and draws upon a range of evidence-based treatments that keep the unique needs of the client firmly in mind. I primarily utilise Emotion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

In sessions with clients, I also use Mindfulness, Schema Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. With this combined approach, I aim to empower people to develop a greater understanding of their feelings, thoughts and behaviours and build the awareness and confidence to develop new ways of being and relating to others.
