VCPS offers placements for provisional psychologists completing their master’s in clinical, counselling and organisational psychology.
During your placement at VCPS you will be exposed to a busy multidisciplinary private practice with a diverse range of practitioners utilising different interventions and modalities.
Our practice offers comprehensive and specialist emotional health solutions (including therapy, medical, allied health) to a wide variety of client groups. Our services include:
- Psychology, Psychiatry, Counselling, Couples therapy, Assessment.
- Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
- Adult ADHD Clinic (assessment, prescribing, therapy and groups)
- Medicinal Cannabis prescribing
- Neuropsychological assessments
- A variety of therapy approaches including Jungian Therapy
- Meditation
- Physiotherapy, myotherapy, complimentary therapies
- Supervision services
- Workplace assistance, mediation, and careers assessment.

By the conclusion of your placement, you will have a good understanding of the workings of a private practice, have improved your individual and group therapy skills in defined clinical or organisational psychology areas, and feel more confident in working with and managing a private practice client load. This placement will also expose you to working with a range of stakeholders within the Mental Health and wellbeing space and is good preparation for working in a boutique mental health and wellbeing clinic.

Professional Psychology Internship
VCPS offers a paid 5 + 1 internship program for students who have completed a Master of Professional Psychology.
During the internship, you will work alongside other professional psychologists with individual clients.
Weekly individual and group supervision is provided as per the requirements of the 5+1 internship, in addition to regular professional development activities at VCPS. Over the course of the internship you will be taught the necessary skills to effectively manage a client load at a private practice.
The psychology internship is a pathway to employment opportunities upon completion of the internship, and it is expected that the intern practitioner will continue at VCPS post internship.
